The Yusuf Dikeç salute is spreading: After Duplantis, Berke Akçam also performed the move

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis won the gold medal in the Men's Pole Vault Final, breaking his own world record. 

After breaking the Olympic record, Armand Duplantis posed in the iconic shooting stance of national marksman Yusuf Dikeç, with his hand in his pocket.

Earlier today, Elon Musk, the owner of X and SpaceX, also shared a post regarding Dikeç's iconic shooting pose.

Most recently, our athlete Berke Akçam, competing in the men's 400m hurdles repechage at Paris 2024, finished his heat in first place with a time of 48.72, qualifying for the semi-finals.

Speaking after his success, Berke Akçam said, "I am extremely happy; I reached the semi-finals in my first Olympics at this age. Hopefully, tomorrow will be even better, and we will try to play for the final. Yusuf Dikeç's move is very nice. It's a move that shows one is relaxed; it has even become an emoji. I hope it comes to phone emojis as well."

Berke Akçam concluded his remarks by saying, "As Turkey, we are putting on a show and achieving great results. I played to the crowd a bit and got them to applaud."
