Trabzonspor manager Thomas Reis evaluated his team's performance and Paul Onuachu's injury following the 4-2 victory against KuPS Kuopio in the first week of the UEFA Conference League.
Stating that the match was not easy, Reis said that his players put on a good performance despite the long journey, pitch conditions, and different weather conditions. The German manager emphasized that the goals came at the right times while also drawing attention to the opponent's efforts.
Expressing his satisfaction with the team's general progress, Reis said, "When you look at the names in our squad, you really say there is significant quality here. We are trying to act together in defense and attack and do a good job. Everything is going well right now, which is pleasing for us."
Speaking about Paul Onuachu, who was injured during the match, Reis noted that the Nigerian footballer had been working well in training and had started the match effectively. Reis stated, "He had started the match well and scored a nice goal. It is a very unfortunate injury. I hope he will return in a short time."
Stating that injuries cannot be an excuse for the team, Reis said, "Injuries are not an excuse for us; we cannot make excuses. Injuries are an opportunity for other players. I hope it will not take too long and he will join us soon."
