Samsunspor manager Thorsten Fink made statements following the match in which his team was defeated 3-0 at home by Trabzonspor in the 7th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig. Speaking at the press conference held after the match at the Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadium, Fink said that the result was a disappointment for them.
Stating that Trabzonspor was the better side on the pitch, Fink expressed that they knew the match would be difficult. The German manager noted that the opponent played more physically, especially in duels, and thought and acted quickly.

Fink said, "After such a derby, after a 3-0 defeat at home, of course I am disappointed. Naturally, one cannot expect me to smile after such a result." Emphasizing that Trabzonspor deserved the win, Fink added that they played better in the second half and that three of their shots hit the woodwork.
Touching on the team's poor run in recent weeks, Fink stated that the consecutive defeats have affected the players' self-confidence. "Since we had lost 4 matches before this one, we have now lost our 5th today. I must say that there is a lack of self-confidence in the team after these defeats," he said.

At the press conference, Fink was also asked whether he would leave his post following the five-match losing streak. The Samsunspor manager stated that he wants to remain in charge of the team and sent a message of determination.
I intend to stay here. I am a fighter. I come from Dortmund, and there is an identity we have acquired there. That is, absolutely never give up and reflect the fighting spirit as much as possible.
Fink said he believes the team has the quality for the future but that they are sad for the fans due to the result. The experienced manager stated that he believes he can turn the team around, adding that the final decision depends not only on him but also on the club's assessment.
