The Tite era at Flamengo
Tite has been appointed as the head coach of Flamengo, one of the teams in the Brazilian Serie A.
In a statement released by the club, it was announced that an agreement has been reached with the 62-year-old Brazilian manager until the end of December 2024.
Tite, who won the 2019 Copa America with the Brazilian National Team, which he managed between 2016 and 2022, has become the third head coach appointed at Flamengo this season.
Flamengo, which started the season with Portuguese manager Vítor Pereira, had reached an agreement with Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli after failing to achieve the expected results. The Brazilian team, which maintained a 1.82 points-per-game average during the 5-month period with Sampaoli, terminated the experienced coach's contract on September 28.
Flamengo is currently in fifth place with 44 points in the league, which has completed 26 weeks.
