Trabzonspor bids farewell to UEFA Europa League

Trabzonspor faced Austrian side Rapid Wien in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League third qualifying round tie, following a 1-0 loss in the first leg. Trabzonspor lost the match 2-0 and was eliminated from the UEFA Europa League.

The first half of the match, played at Allianz Stadion, ended goalless.

The home side was the first to find the back of the net. In the 77th minute, Matthias Seidl met a pass from Bendeguz Bolla inside the penalty area and sent the ball into the net.

In the 85th minute of the match, Trabzonspor's Pedro Malheiro was shown a red card following a challenge on his opponent, leaving his team with 10 men.

The Austrian representatives extended their lead to two goals in the 87th minute through a goal from substitute Christoph Lang.

There were no further goals in the remaining time, and Rapid Wien won the match 2-0 to advance to the next round.

Having lost 2-0 to Rapid Wien in the second leg of the tie after a 1-0 defeat in the first, Trabzonspor has been eliminated from the UEFA Europa League.

The Bordeaux-Blues will face the winner of the St. Gallen (Switzerland) - Slask Wroclaw (Poland) tie in the UEFA Europa Conference League play-off round.
