Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan explains the reason for choosing Şenol Güneş

Following poor results in Europe and the Süper Lig, Trabzonspor parted ways with head coach Abdullah Avcı and has brought Şenol Güneş to the helm of the team for the 5th time. 

Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan provided information about the process of searching for a new head coach in a statement made on the club's social media account. Emphasizing that they focused on three names after deciding to part ways with Abdullah Avcı, Ertuğrul Doğan stated regarding the choice of Şenol Güneş: "We believed that we could reach our goals with a more experienced coach."

"Dear Trabzonspor fans,

In our board meeting held on Monday, we discussed three names in detail. Our team has a strong core, and we are still at the beginning of the Süper Lig marathon. Putting all of this together, we believed that we could reach our goals with a more experienced coach, and as of today, we have reached an agreement with our legend Şenol Güneş.

I say 'welcome back home' to our coach Şenol Güneş, who has been part of almost every success of our Trabzonspor, who brought us a championship during his time as a manager, who thinks like us, believes like us, and is completely 'one of us'.
