Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan: 'I considered pulling the team off the pitch'
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan made significant statements following the defeat against Fenerbahçe.
Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan spoke to the press after their 1-0 away loss to Fenerbahçe. Reacting sharply to the decision to disallow their goal, Doğan said, "At one point, I considered pulling the team off the pitch. No one has such a right. Our disallowed goal defies logic and reason. I do not understand what they based this decision on. I am trying to speak within the framework of respect."
Stating that he went down to the locker room to congratulate his players, Doğan added, "Trabzonspor put up a proper fight on the pitch today. I congratulated our technical staff and our players one by one. Both teams did their best," he expressed.
'I CONSIDERED RESIGNING'
Doğan also mentioned that he considered resigning from his position as President of the Union of Clubs, stating, "I thought about resigning after the match, but that would have been unfair to our other presidents. We will continue our struggle more firmly with all clubs, especially with the Anatolian teams," he said.
Emphasizing the determination of the Trabzonspor community, Doğan stated, "The Trabzonspor community is not one to be trifled with. We do what is necessary when required. This situation has reached our throats. No one has the right to do this. I invite everyone to be careful," he said.
Finally, noting that neither team's rights should be violated, Doğan said, "Neither Fenerbahçe's nor Trabzonspor's rights should be violated. This injustice should not be committed right before our eyes. We will not allow this," he said.
