Transfer suggestion for Fenerbahçe from Erhan Afyoncu... 'After Niang...'

As the transfer window heats up, Galatasaray's move for Leroy Sane has caused a major stir in the sports community, turning eyes toward the moves Fenerbahçe will make. While there has been no transfer news from the yellow-navy team yet, a transfer suggestion for Fenerbahçe has come from National Defense University Rector and history professor Prof. Dr. Erhan Afyoncu. 

SÖRLOTH SUGGESTION WITH THE NIANG EXAMPLE

Prof. Dr. Afyoncu argued that Fenerbahçe has long been unable to find a center-forward capable of unlocking tight matches. Citing Mamadou Niang, one of the team's successful strikers from the past, as an example, Afyoncu said, "Since Niang, they haven't been able to sign a goalscorer who can carry Fenerbahçe, is resistant to physical play, and knows Turkey."

SÖRLOTH NAME COMES TO THE FORE

The name Prof. Afyoncu suggested for the striker position was Alexander Sörloth, who previously won the top scorer title in the Süper Lig while playing for Trabzonspor. Pointing out that the Norwegian striker is accustomed to conditions in Turkey, Afyoncu made the following assessment: "It is not enough for the striker to be signed by Fenerbahçe to just have a big name. They need to be able to stay on their feet in the foul-heavy, physically demanding matches in Turkey. For this reason, the center-forward that must be signed is definitely Sörloth. Sörloth is a striker who will carry Fenerbahçe."
