TRT broadcast fails during Galatasaray's historic victory
Technical glitches and broadcast issues during TRT's coverage of the Champions League night, where Galatasaray defeated Juventus 5-2, drew the ire of football fans.
In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout round play-offs, Galatasaray defeated Juventus 5-2 at home. Technical issues during the match, which was played at RAMS Park and broadcast live by TRT, drew criticism from football fans.
When the freezing issue in the broadcast stream during the second half of the match could not be resolved quickly, the feed was switched to an on-field camera. However, because this camera was shooting from a wide angle far from the penalty areas, viewers were unable to follow the plays clearly.
The disappearance of the score and match clock information from the screen during the technical glitch further increased the frustration of viewers at home. On social media, numerous viewers directed criticism at TRT due to the drop in broadcast quality. Fans expressed that the problems experienced during such an important UEFA Champions League match were unacceptable.
