TRT opens its purse strings to acquire European cup broadcasting rights
TRT has submitted a bid to acquire the European cup broadcasting rights that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) will put up for sale for the upcoming season.
TRT, which participated in the broadcasting tender organized by the Turkish Football Federation for the upcoming season, has made an ambitious bid for the 'Live broadcast' package covering European cups. It has been claimed that TRT submitted a bid of 100 million euros for this package, which includes the broadcasting rights for the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

According to the report by Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the bid has a total value of 100 million euros, consisting of 27 million euros per year plus withholding tax. This offer stands out as being approximately double the annual market value; while the market value is at the level of 15 million euros, the amount proposed by TRT is quite high.
