Turkcell Super Cup 2025 to be played with a new format
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has announced that the Turkcell Super Cup will be played with a new format.
In a statement regarding the matter, the TFF said, "The Turkish Football Federation Board of Directors, in its meeting today, has decided on the format for the Turkcell Super Cup 2025 matches, which was previously announced to be played under a new format.
Accordingly, the matches will be played on a neutral field or fields using a single-elimination system, with the league champion facing the cup finalist in the semi-finals, and the cup champion facing the league runner-up. The winning teams will qualify to play in the final match.
However, since Galatasaray has already guaranteed a top-two finish in the league and has advanced to the final of the Ziraat Turkish Cup this season, the team that finishes the league in third place will be the final team to participate in the Turkcell Super Cup 2025 matches. Taking into account the UEFA qualifying matches our teams will play before the season, it has been decided that the matches will be played in January 2026. The exact dates and final venues will be announced later.
Depending on the league standings and the results of the cup final, the pairings will be as follows.
If the league champion and the cup champion are the same team:
League champion vs. cup finalist,
League runner-up vs. third-place team,
If the league champion and the cup finalist are the same team:
League champion vs. third-place team,
Cup champion vs. league runner-up,
If the league runner-up and the cup champion are the same team:
League champion vs. cup finalist,
Cup champion vs. third-place team,
If the league runner-up and the cup finalist are the same team:
League champion vs. cup finalist,
Cup champion vs. third-place team will be paired."
