Fenerbahçe, visiting Nordsjaelland in the 5th match of the UEFA Conference League, was defeated 6-1.
It has emerged that the architect of Fenerbahçe's heavy defeat was FC Nordsjaelland's 38-year-old Turkish analyst Gürkan Araç.
It was learned that Araç, an IT specialist born in Denmark, meticulously analyzed the yellow-navy team's away and home matches and explained them in detail to all Nordsjaelland players and the technical staff.
WE PLAYED AN EXTRA FORWARD AND DEFENDER
Gürkan Araç described his analysis with these words:
"There are three elements with which Fenerbahçe can punish its opponent. The first is their world-class attacks, the second is their fast physical defense, and the third is the trio in the middle who can create the game. To prevent these, we played an extra forward and a defender.
We knew that with an extra forward, we could cause major problems in the alternative defenses they set up due to injuries. We also prevented their forwards from changing positions with the extra defender."
