Turkish archers return from Shanghai with medals

The second leg of the Archery World Cup, held in Shanghai, China, was highly productive for Turkish athletes. Our recurve mixed national team, with the outstanding performance of Mete Gazoz and Dünya Yenihayat, defeated Germany 6-2 to win the bronze medal. This success was achieved on the final day of the event.

The Turkish national team concluded this prestigious tournament, held between May 6-11, with 1 silver and 3 bronze medals. These results once again demonstrated the strength of Turkish archery on the international stage.

On the other hand, the compound mixed national team, consisting of Batuhan Akçaoğlu and Hazal Burun, made history by breaking a world record with a "10x160 perfect score." This extraordinary performance is considered a promising development for the future of Turkish archery.

Öznur Cüre Girdi, who won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, also made her mark in Turkish archery history by competing against non-disabled athletes in the compound bow category. Cüre Girdi's success once again proved how effective Turkish athletes can be on the international platform by overcoming obstacles.
