Turkish National Football Team climbs 4 spots in FIFA rankings
The Turkish National Football Team has climbed four spots to reach 38th place in the October world rankings announced by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
The Turkish National Football Team has settled into 38th place in the FIFA World Rankings. After securing victories against Croatia and Latvia and qualifying for the 2024 European Championship Finals, the Crescent-Stars have achieved their best ranking since December 2021, recording a four-spot rise for the first time since October 2019. Turkey reached 1,498 points, becoming the country that collected the most points among the teams in the top 53 of the October rankings.
Among the rivals in Group D of the 2024 European Championship Qualifiers, Croatia experienced the largest point loss, dropping four spots to 10th place, while Wales rose from 33rd to 28th, and Latvia climbed from 136th to 132nd. Armenia, meanwhile, fell to 95th place.
The top five countries in the rankings published on FIFA's website remained unchanged this month.
2022 World Cup champion Argentina maintained its lead with 1,861 points, while France remained 2nd with 1,853 points, and Brazil stayed 3rd with 1,812 points. These teams were followed by England in 4th place with 1,807 points and Belgium in 5th place with 1,793 points.
The next FIFA world ranking will be announced on November 30.
