Turkish National Football Team wins friendly match with 2 goals

Continuing their preparations for the FIFA World Cup in the USA, the Turkish National Football Team faced Venezuela in their final friendly match at Inter Miami FC Stadium. The national team won the match 2-1 after finishing the first half in a 1-1 draw. The goals for Turkey were scored by Barış Alper Yılmaz in the 44th minute and Yunus Akgün in the 54th minute. Venezuela's goal was scored by Gleiker Mendoza in the 13th minute.

The Crescent-Stars had previously defeated North Macedonia 4-0 in their first friendly match held in Istanbul. The red-and-whites thus emerged victorious from both matches played during this preparation period.

Following the match, the national team will head to Mesa, Arizona, which is their main base camp for the World Cup.

Turkish National Football Team Head Coach Vincenzo Montella started the match with a lineup consisting of Uğurcan Çakır, Zeki Çelik, Ozan Kabak, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Eren Elmalı, Orkun Kökçü, İsmail Yüksek, Barış Alper Yılmaz, Arda Güler, İrfan Can Kahveci, and Deniz Gül. Montella later brought on Merih Demiral, Yunus Akgün, Kerem Aktürkoğlu, Mert Müldür, Salih Özcan, Can Uzun, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, and Oğuz Aydın.

The national team's first goal came from Barış Alper Yılmaz. In the 44th minute of the match, following a corner kick taken by Arda Güler from the right, Barış Alper sent the ball into the net during a scramble in front of the goal, bringing the score to 1-1. The 26-year-old footballer thus scored his 3rd goal for the National Team. Starting the match in the first 11, Barış Alper Yılmaz remained on the pitch for 90 minutes.

Yunus Akgün scores his 4th goal

The second goal for the Crescent-Stars in the match was scored by Yunus Akgün. In the 54th minute of the match, Yunus met a pass from Arda Güler on the left at the edge of the penalty area, and his shot found the back of the net, making the score 2-1. With this goal, the 25-year-old footballer increased his goal tally for the national team to 4. Yunus Akgün, who started the match on the bench, entered the game in the 46th minute, replacing İrfan Can Kahveci.

Kerem Aktürkoğlu gets playing time

Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who was injured during the training sessions in Istanbul, played his first match against Venezuela after completing his treatment. Kerem entered the game in the 62nd minute, replacing Deniz Gül.
