Turmoil in France: Galatasaray files application to UEFA regarding Lille match

Galatasaray is preparing to file an application to UEFA ahead of their away match against French side Lille in the third week of the UEFA Champions League.

The yellow-red club will request assurances regarding the safety of both the team delegation and the Galatasaray fans traveling to the country to watch the match, due to the events taking place in France.

The Lille-Galatasaray match will be played on Wednesday, October 21, at 19:45 TSI. It was stated that the club is not requesting a change of venue for the match, but is instead asking for increased security measures.

It was reported that Galatasaray is also in contact with the French Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs throughout this process. It was noted that similar security measures are expected to be taken for the PSG-Barcelona match to be played in France tomorrow.
