Two players set to leave Galatasaray during the winter break

New developments are emerging at Galatasaray regarding Victor Nelsson and Tanguy Ndombele.

The departure of Danish center-back Victor Nelsson in January is among the possibilities, as he has been relegated to the bench following the strong performance of Colombian center-back Davinson Sanchez, who was signed from Premier League side Tottenham for 9.5 million euros.

AN OFFER HAD COME FROM SEVILLA

The 25-year-old player received an offer from Spanish La Liga side Sevilla at the beginning of the season but decided against leaving due to pressure from the management. The Danish defender, whom Galatasaray initially planned to feature in the defense, fell behind in the pecking order following Sanchez's arrival and was used as the third choice behind Kaan Ayhan.

RELEGATED TO THE BENCH WITH SANCHEZ'S ARRIVAL

The Danish player, who drew attention with his chemistry with Abdülkerim Bardakcı in defense during last season's championship run, has struggled to get the playing time he wanted this season.

Nelsson has appeared in a total of 15 matches this season, including 7 in the Süper Lig, 5 in the Champions League qualifiers, and 3 in the Champions League group stage, starting 11 of those matches. The defender, who was not selected by Okan Buruk in 6 matches, has played a total of 1015 minutes this season.

Due to head coach Okan Buruk's preference for the Colombian, it is believed that Nelsson will evaluate offers that arrive during the winter transfer window.

NDOMBELE'S OPTION WILL NOT BE EXERCISED

Galatasaray will not exercise the option for Tanguy Ndombele, whom they signed on loan from Tottenham at the beginning of the season. The French midfielder, who has not been fully fit for some time due to being overweight and has not even been able to play a full 90 minutes, is not in head coach Okan Buruk's plans.

Galatasaray management will not exercise the 15 million euro purchase option for the 26-year-old French midfielder, who has been ineffective while looking to recapture his old form. At the same time, the yellow-reds, who want to get off his 3.1 million euro salary, may turn to other alternatives in that position in January instead of Ndombele.
