UEFA announced the disciplinary decisions following the Conference League match played between Shakhtar Donetsk and AZ Alkmaar on April 9. An investigation had been launched after the Ukrainian club kept its player Isaque Silva, who had suffered a concussion, in the game.
Concluding the investigation, UEFA fined Shakhtar Donetsk 10 thousand Euros for failing to comply with the concussion protocol. Manager Arda Turan, meanwhile, faced a 20 thousand Euro fine for being deemed to have put Isaque Silva's health at risk.
Furthermore, UEFA has requested that the Shakhtar Donetsk club organize a special training session on concussion management for both its players and technical staff.
