Unpleasant rehearsal for the National Team: We lost to Mexico

The A National Football Team, preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying groups in the United States (USA), lost 1-0 to Mexico.

Mexico's goal was scored by Orbelin Pineda in the 45th minute.

The Italian manager gave starting spots to Yasin Özcan, Mert Müldür, Kaan Ayhan, and İrfan Can Kahveci, replacing Eren Elmalı, Zeki Çelik, Orkun Kökçü, and Oğuz Aydın, who had played against the USA.

Montella fielded the national team with the following starting 11: Berke Özer, Mert Müldür, Merih Demiral, Çağlar Söyüncü, Yasin Özcan, Kaan Ayhan, İsmail Yüksek, İrfan Can Kahveci, Arda Güler, Kerem Aktürkoğlu, and Kenan Yıldız.

Yasin Özcan made his debut for the A National Football Team against Mexico.

The 19-year-old footballer, who did not get a chance to play in the USA match, wore the A National Team jersey for the first time against Mexico.

KAAN AYHAN AS CAPTAIN

Kaan Ayhan took the field as captain for the A National Football Team against Mexico. In the match against the USA, Çağlar Söyüncü had worn the captain's armband as Kaan Ayhan was among the substitutes.

The national team's primary captain, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, is not in the squad due to injury.

TURKISH FANS DID NOT LEAVE THE NATIONAL TEAM ALONE

Turkish fans did not leave the crescent-star team alone during the A National Football Team's match against Mexico in the USA.

Turkish fans were present in the stands at Kenan Stadium with their crescent-star flags.

Turkey had defeated the USA 2-1 in their first friendly match of the US training camp.
