US tennis player Gauff shows support for Gazans under attack
American Coco Gauff, ranked number 3 in the world in women's tennis, said she is disturbed by what is happening in occupied Gaza.
The 19-year-old Gauff, who is in the United Arab Emirates for the Dubai Tennis Championships, expressed her support for Gazans under Israeli attack.
Stating that she is aware of what is happening in Gaza, the American tennis player said, "For me, I'm always praying for peace in the region. Knowing that so many children and innocent people are dying on both sides, but especially what is happening in Gaza and the occupation, it bothers me sometimes."
Calling on everyone to pray for peace, Gauff said, "I advocate for peace, I advocate for thousands of people. I think children and innocent people are being killed in a conflict that I don't think should be happening."
Gauff, who has 7 singles titles in her career, reached her first grand slam victory at the US Open last year.
