VakıfBank wins the first trophy of the season!

In the Women's AXA Sigorta Champions Cup volleyball match, VakıfBank defeated Fenerbahçe Opet 3-2 to become the champion.

Fenerbahçe Opet started the match well. Although VakıfBank recovered with points from Gabi and found balance in the score, the yellow-navy blues, effective with Fedorovtseva in the final section, finished the first set ahead 25-23 to take a 1-0 lead.

VakıfBank began the second set with a 5-1 run. The yellow-navy blues recovered with the inclusion of Eda Erdem and reduced the gap to 2 points (13-11), prompting the visiting team to call a timeout. After the timeout, Fenerbahçe Opet won two consecutive block points with Aslı Kalaç and took the lead with Eda Erdem's ace points: 14-13. VakıfBank, which took the lead again with a 3-0 run (15-16), did not relinquish the advantage and won the set 25-22 to tie the match at 1-1.

In the third set, which began with back-and-forth scoring, Fenerbahçe Opet took the lead with Fedorovtseva, bringing the score to 15-11. Although VakıfBank responded to Stysiak's effective play in both defense and offense with Gabi, the yellow-navy blues were successful with their serves in the final section, finishing the set ahead 25-22 to take the lead again: 2-1.

Fenerbahçe Opet started the fourth set well, entering the first technical timeout with a 7-4 lead. Although the yellow-navy blues extended the gap to 5 points (9-4) after the timeout, VakıfBank equalized the score at 16-16 and then took the lead: 16-17. Not allowing their opponent to level the score in the remaining part, the yellow-blacks won the set 25-23 to restore balance: 2-2.

Fenerbahçe Opet started the final set with a point from Stysiak, but VakıfBank took the lead in offense and went ahead 9-5. Earning three match points in the final section, VakıfBank won the set 15-12 and the match 3-2, taking the trophy to their museum.
