Victor Osimhen's injury status revealed
The clearest explanation regarding the condition of Victor Osimhen, who was injured while playing for the Nigerian national team, has come via social media.
Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen was injured during the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers play-off final match where Nigeria faced the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Nigerian player left the pitch in tears. Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle stated that Osimhen was substituted at halftime due to discomfort he felt in the back of his leg.
An explanation regarding Osimhen, whose condition was also eagerly awaited by Galatasaray fans, has come via social media.
Osimhen's close friend Buchi Laba shared the following in a post:
“Victor Osimhen’s injury is a hamstring injury. He will fly to Galatasaray as soon as possible for proper assessment and medical care. Initial indications suggest it is not serious. We hope that is the case.”
The star player's final status will be determined after examinations to be conducted in Istanbul.
