Fenerbahçe's call for justice to referees: 'Be fair, officiate with equity!'

Fenerbahçe Club Secretary General Burak Çağlan Kızılhan, emphasized justice and equity in his call to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) and referees during his speech at the High Council meeting. Speaking at the meeting held at the Fenerbahçe Faruk Ilgaz Facilities in Kalamış, Kızılhan evaluated the last three-month period, during which they displayed a competitive identity as a club.

Stating that they have had a successful period, Kızılhan expressed that the resistance they showed, particularly in the process starting from July 3, 2011, resulted in an honorable victory on December 27, 2021. He stated that the acquittal decision in the process known as the "so-called match-fixing case in football" once again proved Fenerbahçe's clean stance.

Kızılhan also highlighted the successes achieved by the club's football team in the Süper Lig, Europe, and the Turkish Cup, and congratulated manager İsmail Kartal and the players. Furthermore, he emphasized that they would continue to stand firmly as a club until their material and moral damages are compensated.

Underlining that the most important element behind the success is unity and solidarity, Kızılhan said:

"The world-class players we added to our squad during the winter transfer window have further increased our confidence in our team. We had a very productive transfer period with correct planning and timely reinforcements to the areas that needed them. Adding star players like Bonucci, Krunic, and Çağlar Söyüncü were important steps for our championship goal. I would like to thank those who contributed to this process. In addition to the players who joined the team due to quota reasons, there were also players who left. Both our team and our fans are putting their hearts into the championship path."

Stating that everyone's support is very important for the championship, Kızılhan said, "I would like to make a call to the TFF and the referees from here, during a period when we as a team and community are putting up an extraordinary fight. Be fair, officiate all matches with equity. Ensuring justice is of critical importance for the future and brand value of football. We hope to have a season where referees do not affect the competition. If these conditions are met, rest assured that we will bring the championship trophy to our museum this year."

Pointing out that the yellow-navy club competes at the very top in all branches of sports, Kızılhan continued his words as follows:

"Under these difficult financial conditions, we will push our limits to the end for the success of our Olympic branches. We always say that Fenerbahçe is the world's greatest sports club. One out of every 5 athletes representing our country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics was an athlete from Fenerbahçe Club. Now the target is the 2024 Paris Olympics. A Galatasaray High Council member named Sami Çölgeçen said, 'Where are we, we are nowhere. You are only competing with Fenerbahçe in football, you are not in the amateur branches. I am jealous of Fenerbahçe.' Fenerbahçe is in a completely different place in Turkish sports and the future of its country."

"IT IS A RECORD IN FENERIUM HISTORY"

Finally, stating that Fenerium stores have broken a record, Kızılhan said, "We broke a new record by reaching the 350 thousand jersey sales figure in January this year, which we reached in April last season. Our 2023 turnover was completed with 1 billion 302 million liras. This figure is a record in Fenerium history. We reached a turnover of 47 million 700 thousand euros in foreign currency terms."
