Volkan Demirel on Uğurcan Çakır: 'If he transfers to Fenerbahçe...'

Manager and football commentator Volkan Demirel evaluated Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper transfer situation on the Asist Analiz program. Demirel stated that if Fenerbahçe parts ways with Livakovic, they will need a goalkeeper transfer, noting that the options for domestic goalkeepers are limited.

Speaking about Uğurcan Çakır's potential transfer to Fenerbahçe, Demirel said, 'If he comes to Fenerbahçe, it would be a very successful transfer. He has many goalkeeping qualities and is very comfortable with his feet. Both in terms of age and position, if Uğurcan transfers to Fenerbahçe, it would be the transfer of the year.'

Regarding Berke Özer being linked to Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, Demirel remarked, 'Berke is a very good goalkeeper. He has earned at least 20 points for Eyüpspor. Berke needs to stay sharp. He needs to face a lot of shots. When many shots come, a goalkeeper's qualities emerge, but if you put Berke in a big team and only 2-3 shots come, he might not handle them as well as in a match where he is constantly tested. Uğurcan possesses those qualities. If Berke goes to Galatasaray, it would be a good transfer, but they would need another one. If I were in Berke's place, I would go abroad. Spain is exactly his league.'

Sharing his views on Altay Bayındır as well, Demirel said, 'I also think Altay is a very good goalkeeper. I think he should stay there now; he should not return to Turkey.'
