Fenerbahçe's new president, Sadettin Saran, recently held a meeting with one of the club's unforgettable figures, coach Volkan Demirel. Demirel shared the details of the meeting on the NOW Spor YouTube channel.
"People I know, friends, and family want me to be involved in the community. This is something I am proud of. If there is a need, we are always ready to take on a role. I have not made such a request, and I never will. If they deem me worthy and call upon me, we will try to do our best wherever we are placed," said Demirel, emphasizing his commitment to the club.
"I RESPECT EVERY DECISION MADE"
Stating that he has not yet received an official offer, Volkan Demirel used the following expressions:
"I have had conversations with President Sadettin both before and after the election process. The president has a plan in mind regarding me. I spoke with him both before and after the election. Just because I did this does not mean I will be in a certain position. It is entirely a decision for our president and our management. I respect every decision made."
"TEDESCO SHOULD BE SUPPORTED"
Speaking about Fenerbahçe's head coach Domenico Tedesco, Demirel said that the coach should be supported:
"I am of the opinion that we should continue with the coach. The management has changed, the president has changed. The players want to see what will happen. There is no need for Fenerbahçe to be a team that changes coaches every minute. Everyone started thinking this way after the Zagreb match, but continuing with the coach seems to be the most correct decision. At the very least, he should be kept on until the international break."
