Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer made statements ahead of the Champions League match they will play against Lazio.
Stating that they want to make up for the Bayer Leverkusen match, Neuer said, "We haven't fully digested the defeat yet because this match was very important. We talked about everything clearly and analyzed it. It is a good thing that there is another match ahead of us. Of course, we want to advance to the next round. We want to make up for what happened in Leverkusen," and continued with these words:
"We lost our composure. Bayern needs to play with confidence, not just for 10-15 minutes. Small mistakes should not take us out of the game; this must not be allowed. We must learn from our mistakes as quickly as possible. We all want to show our best game, to show who we are. We want to do this against Lazio."
Stating that they are definitely not underestimating Lazio, Manuel Neuer said, "Italian teams always defend well, the center of the field will be quite compact. They will try to play on the wings. We know that we have had problems with easier opponents. They deserve to be in the play-offs. We will definitely not underestimate them. We must look at ourselves, try to do better, and celebrate success together as a team," and concluded his sentences with these words:
"After a failure like the one in Leverkusen, I want to play again as soon as possible. We need to remember the successes we have achieved in the Champions League. You always need to be able to recover from injuries and defeats. That is what makes a professional a professional."
