The absence of star opposite hitter Ebrar Karakurt from the A National Women's Volleyball Team roster has prompted action from sports fans. Volleyball enthusiasts who closely follow the matches of the Sultans of the Net are seeking answers to the questions, "Why is Ebrar Karakurt not playing, and will she join the 2026 CEV squad?"
WHY IS EBRAR KARAKURT NOT THERE?
Ebrar Karakurt is not in the squad due to health problems. In an official statement made by the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) before the VNL Tournament, the following statements were included regarding Ebrar Karakurt's health status:
"Following the increase in pain in our national volleyball player's lower back and hip area during examinations, fluid increase and bone marrow edema were detected in her right sacroiliac joint."
Following this diagnosis, it is estimated that the star player's treatment was started immediately and that she is being rested for the 2026 CEV Women's European Volleyball Championship so as not to put her health at risk.
The national volleyball player also did not take part in the 3rd week matches of the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League played in recent months.
