The winner of the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix has been decided

The victory at the Japanese Grand Prix, the third stop of the Formula 1 World Championship, went to Red Bull's Dutch star Max Verstappen.

In the 53-lap race held on the 5.8-kilometer track in the city of Suzuka, Verstappen, who started from pole position, was the first to see the checkered flag with a time of 1 hour 22 minutes 06.983 seconds.

Although McLaren drivers continued their superior form from the start of the season, they could not stop Verstappen. British driver Lando Norris, who won the Australian Grand Prix, took second place, 1.423 seconds behind Verstappen. McLaren's other driver, Australian Oscar Piastri, finished third, 2.129 seconds behind the leader.

In the first two races of the season, McLaren's young stars Norris and Piastri had shared the top spot. As the season heats up with the race in Japan, the next stage will be held in Bahrain on April 13.
