Women's football star faces 'racially aggravated harassment' trial: She denies the charges!
Australian national team footballer Sam Kerr, who plays for Chelsea, will stand trial in February 2025 on charges of 'racially aggravated harassment' of a police officer in London.
Australian national team footballer Sam Kerr, who plays for Chelsea, appeared in court after being charged with using insulting, threatening, or abusive words toward a police officer in Twickenham, southwest London, on January 30.
A police spokesperson stated that the incident involved an officer responding to a complaint regarding a taxi fare.
A FOUR-DAY TRIAL IS EXPECTED
Kerr attended the court hearing via video link and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
A four-day trial for Kerr is expected to take place in February of next year.
Kerr has been the captain of the Australian women's national team since 2019. As Australia's all-time leading goalscorer with 69 goals, Kerr joined Chelsea in the middle of the 2019-20 season and has scored 99 goals in 128 appearances for the club.
