Yunus Akgün secures a salary raise at Galatasaray
Galatasaray's young talent Yunus Akgün has reached a new 4-year agreement with his club, securing a significant increase in his salary.
Following long-standing negotiations, Galatasaray has signed a new contract with its homegrown national player, Yunus Akgün. The yellow-red team, aiming for an ambitious season in the Süper Lig and the Champions League, has set Akgün's salary in Euros rather than Turkish Lira.
As a result of negotiations that have been ongoing since January, Yunus Akgün's annual salary has been increased from 17.2 million TL to 118 million TL. This increase represents a 594 percent raise in his salary. Furthermore, the 'release clause of 11 million Euros' in the player's contract has been removed.
Yunus Akgün's new salary will be approximately 2.5 million Euros. The club stated that it would provide support to the player in the event of an unexpected rise in foreign exchange rates. In the statement made by Galatasaray, it was noted, "The contract of our professional football player Yunus Akgün has been extended until the end of the 2028-2029 season."
