Zubkov era coming to an end at Trabzonspor
Continuing its squad restructuring ahead of the new season, Trabzonspor is preparing to part ways with Ukrainian footballer Oleksandr Zubkov. It has been learned that the claret-blue club has reached an agreement in principle with Greek side AEK Athens regarding the transfer of the experienced winger.
Zubkov, who joined the squad in February 2025 from Ukrainian team Shakhtar Donetsk for a transfer fee of 6 million euros, recorded 12 goals and 16 assists in 57 appearances for Trabzonspor.
The Ukrainian player, who provided significant contributions to the claret-blue team's attacking line, is expected to continue his career in Greece.
While significant progress has been made in the negotiations between the two clubs, the transfer is expected to be finalized shortly.
Following the completion of the agreement between the parties, Zubkov is expected to undergo medical examinations and sign an official contract with AEK Athens, while an official statement regarding the transfer is also expected from the Trabzonspor side.
