50 percent price hike for Eastern Express tickets

The Republic of Türkiye State Railways (TCDD) has announced the ticket prices for the 2025-2026 winter season of the Tourist Eastern Express, which attracts significant interest every year. New season services will begin on December 22, 2025, and will continue until March 1, 2026.

PRICES VARY BY DIRECTION AND DATE

According to the tariff shared by TCDD, prices for two-person compartments range between 12 thousand TL and 17 thousand TL. Accordingly, per-person fares will start at 6 thousand TL and go up to 8 thousand 500 TL.

In the new season, fares will vary depending on both the direction of the journey and the date ranges.

Between December 22 and January 16, the Ankara–Kars line has been set at 14 thousand TL, while the Kars–Ankara line is 12 thousand TL.

In the period between January 16 and March 1, tickets departing from Ankara will rise to 17 thousand TL, and tickets departing from Kars will rise to 15 thousand TL.

APPROXIMATELY 50 PERCENT HIKE COMPARED TO LAST YEAR

Ticket prices, which were 5 thousand 750 TL per person last season, have increased by approximately 50 percent for the new period. Despite this increase, the train is expected to see high demand and tickets are expected to sell out in a short time.
