Cities in Europe where you can vacation for under 100 euros a day

For those looking for affordable city breaks in Europe for the autumn, the Balkans, Eastern Europe, and Turkey stand out. According to a list prepared by Thomas Cook, which examined more than 50 popular destinations, 13 cities were identified where the daily cost per person remains under 100 euros in September.

The research took into account the average costs of items such as accommodation in a three-star hotel, a meal at a modest restaurant, coffee, a daily bus pass, and admission to paid tourist attractions. At the top of the list is the Albanian capital, Tirana, with a daily cost of approximately 59 euros per person.

Tirana ranked first on the list of affordable city getaways.

Accommodation in a three-star hotel in Tirana was calculated at an average of 32 euros per night per person. Dinner at an affordable restaurant is around 8.50 euros, and a local beer is at the 1.50 euro level.

In second place is the Romanian capital, Bucharest. In the city, dinner out was calculated at just over 12 euros on average, while a daily bus pass is approximately 1.50 euros.

Three cities from Turkey made the list. Antalya shares third place with the Polish capital, Warsaw, while Istanbul is in fifth place, and Muğla is in sixth place alongside Krakow. While hotels in Istanbul are shown as among the most affordable options with an average of 28 euros per person, it was noted that an affordable meal ranges between 8 and 9 euros.

City destinations in Eastern Europe and Turkey consistently offer affordable prices; with increasing tourist numbers, this secret will not stay hidden for very long.
