Spain visa appointment system changed: New dates announced

New procedures have been implemented in the visa application process for Turkish citizens planning to travel to Spain. With the updated system, the dates when appointment quotas will open, the minimum timeframes required based on application centers, and the distinction between family and individual applications have been reorganized.

According to the new calendar, appointment quotas for Spain visas will open for access on the 1st and 16th of each month at 09:00 Turkey time. Applicants will need to plan their travel according to these dates and create their appointments as early as possible.

The time remaining until the travel date for applications will also be applied differently depending on the application center. Individuals who will process their applications at visa application centers in Ankara and Istanbul are required to plan their application at least 15 business days before their travel date.

For those who will apply from centers in İzmir, Antalya, and Gaziantep, this period has been set at a minimum of 20 business days. Therefore, it is important for applicants to consider not only the appointment calendar but also the center where the transaction will take place.

With the regulation, the age criterion has also come to the fore in appointment categories. Families traveling with children under the age of 18 will be required to make their applications through the “Family Appointment” category.

Individuals who have reached the age of 18, even if they are traveling with their families, will carry out their applications separately under the “Individual Appointment” category. Since failure to select the correct category during the application process may lead to disruptions in travel plans, age criteria must be checked carefully.
