Forbes announces the most powerful women of 2024: One name from Turkey is on the list

Güler Sabancı was the only Turkish name on the list of the world's most powerful women compiled by Forbes Magazine.

Güler Sabancı, the first female executive of Sabancı Holding, ranked 80th on the list.

While drawing attention to Sabancı's career full of achievements, Forbes emphasized that she leads social responsibility projects in Turkey as the founding president of Sabancı University and chair of the Sabancı Foundation.

Additionally, her status as the first female member of the European Round Table for Industry (ERT) and her role on the MIT Energy Initiative External Advisory Board were among the notable details mentioned.

LEYEN AT THE TOP OF POLITICS!

Important figures from the political scene left their mark on the top four spots of the list. While European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen took the first place, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde is in second, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is in third, and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is in fourth.

STAR OF THE BUSINESS WORLD: GM CEO MARY BARRA

In the business world category, GM CEO Mary Barra, who is fifth in the overall rankings, takes the top spot. She is followed by Accenture CEO Julie Sweet and Elevance CEO Gail Boudreaux.

 Güler Sabancı has also maintained her position in this category for many years.
