'Maskeliler', directed by Mehmet Esen, to premiere in Bodrum

Directed by Mehmet Esen, the play will meet theatergoers on Monday, March 4, at 20:00 at the Nurol Culture Center, Bodrum Municipality City Theater Stage.

Focusing on the tragedy between three Palestinian brothers, Maskeliler brings the impasse created by war in people's lives to the stage.

The play's director, Mehmet Esen, expressed the significance of staging Maskeliler today with the following words:

"In this latest dirty Israel-Palestine war, thousands of people have been killed. Fire has fallen into the hearts of mothers. Mothers are the ones experiencing the greatest pain. The world is deaf, blind, and mute. My heart has been burning since this war began.

I asked myself what I could do, how I could create awareness and raise my voice to end this dirty war. People are being killed there, and the world just looks at it as numbers or watches it as if it were a movie. We chose this play to shout that this is not a movie, but reality.

We played Maskeliler to sold-out audiences in Berlin for two years. It is a play that deeply affected me. I always say: 'An artist is one who says no to injustice. An artist is one who spends their own light without hesitation,' and we set out with that in mind."
