WHO IS KAYHAN YILDIZOĞLU?

Kayhan Yıldızoğlu was born on December 26, 1936, in Yeşilköy, Istanbul. His father, Rahmi Bey, was an agricultural engineer of Circassian descent, and his mother was a teacher from Crete. In 1952, his father was appointed as an undersecretary at the ministry in Ankara, and they moved to Ankara. Thus, he attended high school in Kavaklıdere. After high school, he studied at the faculty of law at his family's request, but dropped out in his third year.

After completing his military service as a reserve officer in Istanbul in 1957, he became a scout commissioner. He married Türkan Suner, whom he met there. They had two daughters from this marriage. However, they divorced a few years later. After the separation, he spent three and a half years living in a house in Cihangir with Şener Şen.

He met theater actor Muhsin Ertuğrul by chance at his workplace and was invited to auditions; as a result of the auditions, he spent 20 years in the theater at the Istanbul City Theaters.

Kayhan Yıldızoğlu, who shot his first film in 1966, acted in nearly 180 films and also appeared in television series. In Turkish cinema, he generally played supporting roles such as a priest, doctor, commissioner, professor, bandit, outlaw, etc.

Kayhan Yıldızoğlu passed away on March 9, 2024.
