The dead to be brought back to life with AI in China

It has been learned that avatars prepared from people's voices and images, called 'ghost bots', are in high demand in China.

A well-known artificial intelligence firm in China can produce an avatar of any person within 20 days, with prices ranging between 10 thousand and 20 thousand yuan (approximately 41 thousand 400 TL to 82 thousand 800 TL).

THERE ARE THOSE WHO HAVE AVATARS OF THEIR EX-LOVERS MADE

It is said that the company's customers include relatives of those who have passed away, parents who cannot spend time with their children, and even people who have had avatars of their ex-lovers made.

'CAN EXIST FOREVER'

According to the report by The Independent, the company owner Zhang stated that their work meets the emotional needs of many people, saying, "A digital version of someone can exist forever even after their body has disappeared."

Sima Hupeng, founder of the China-based Silicon Intelligence company, which focuses on artificial intelligence technology, argued that the avatars would "break new ground in the understanding of humanism."

Tal Morse from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom, on the other hand, underlined that more research needs to be conducted regarding the psychological and ethical dimensions of such software.
