An entertainment venue operating in Ortaköy, in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district, was inspected following a complaint filed with the Presidential Communication Center (CİMER). During the inspection by Ministry of Trade teams, it was determined that the establishment was in violation of pricing regulations.
According to information provided by Bekir Kaplan, the Ministry's Press and Public Relations Advisor, teams from the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Trade conducted an inspection at the establishment, which is described as a "new generation" entertainment venue.
During the inspection, it was determined that there were no lists available to allow customers to see prices before entering the establishment or placing an order. It was found that the business did not have a price list at the entrance or on the tables.
The Ministry of Trade determined that this practice was in violation of the Price Tag Regulation and issued an administrative fine of 135 thousand 82 lira to the business.
In a statement on his social media account, Kaplan noted that inspections are being continued to protect the economic interests of consumers.
Kaplan also drew attention to the importance of consumers being able to see the price of the product or service they will purchase in advance, and stated that inspections against practices contrary to the rules will continue. The Ministry's statement also emphasized that businesses must act in accordance with the legislation regarding pricing.
