42 personnel hospitalized at Antalya Airport over suspected food poisoning
At Antalya Airport, 42 people, including 4 police officers and 38 security guards, were hospitalized yesterday evening with suspected food poisoning after falling ill following their meal. Airport Border Administrative Chief Suat Seyitoğlu stated, "The chicken they ate is suspected. All personnel have now been discharged. Samples have been taken, and our investigation is ongoing. If there is any negligence, serious punitive sanctions will be applied."
The incident occurred in the evening hours at Antalya Airport. According to the information obtained, 4 police officers and 38 private security guards working at the airport fell ill after eating, complaining of diarrhea, vomiting, and weakness.
Upon the report made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, numerous medical teams were dispatched to the area. The personnel, who received initial treatment from the medical teams arriving at the scene, were taken to various hospitals in the region.
While it is alleged that the personnel under treatment fell ill due to food poisoning from the meal they consumed, Airport Border Administrative Chief Suat Seyitoğlu made a statement regarding the matter.
'SERIOUS PUNITIVE SANCTIONS WILL BE APPLIED'
Seyitoğlu noted that 4 police officers and 38 security guards were hospitalized in the evening hours due to suspected poisoning, and that all of them have now been discharged. Seyitoğlu said, "The food distribution company at the airport had chicken on the menu last night. We believe it was from the chicken. All police and security personnel have been discharged. The Provincial Directorate of Agriculture has launched an investigation into the matter. Necessary samples have been taken. If there is any negligence, serious punitive sanctions will be applied."
