Action taken after scandal in Marmaris: Number of closed businesses is increasing

In the tourism hub of Marmaris, Muğla, comprehensive inspections of entertainment venues have been launched following a rise in complaints, particularly with the start of the summer season. Public Order and Patrol teams affiliated with the Marmaris District Police Department have inspected hundreds of businesses across the district, primarily in the Uzunyalı, Armutalan, and İçmeler areas.

The inspections mainly identified issues such as loud music broadcasts, torches and dance shows that disturb the environment, and nude dance performances. Additionally, persistent invitations made to passersby and behaviors contrary to moral values were also recorded in the reports.

In this context, numerous businesses were issued temporary closure penalties of 3, 7, and 10 days. Longer-term punitive sanctions were applied to businesses where violations were repeated. Two businesses were sealed indefinitely.

20 BUSINESSES CLOSED

Following the inspections, a total of 20 entertainment venues have had to cease their operations temporarily or indefinitely to date. Police units announced that they will continue to monitor violations and that inspections will continue uninterrupted throughout the summer.
