Arabian foal sold for 7.9 million liras at TİGEM auction

The '2024 Purebred Arabian Elite Foal Sales' of TİGEM, one of the world's leading centers for breeding and improving purebred Arabian horses, was held at the Istanbul Veliefendi Hippodrome. The 15 purebred Arabian elite foals with superior genetic structures offered for sale received intense interest from breeders. The horse named 'İstikrarlı' was sold for a record price of 7 million 900 thousand liras.

Arabian foal sold for 7.9 million liras at TİGEM auction

A total of 13 foals were sold at the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) auction, while 2 foals did not find buyers.

Among them, the horse named 'İstikrarlı' was sold for a record price of 7 million 900 thousand liras. It was followed by the foal named 'Büyüksultan' at 6 million 700 thousand liras. The foal sold for the lowest price was 'Göksagun' at 1 million liras.

TİGEM set a new record with these sales, reaching a total sales revenue of 40 million 250 thousand liras. The second purebred Arabian elite foal sale of the year is expected to be held on Tuesday, October 8, at the Istanbul Veliefendi Hippodrome.

In his statement, TİGEM General Manager Dr. Hasan Gezginç said, "In Arabian horse breeding, which is a very ancient culture of ours, our pedigree is clear with a history of nearly 700 years. Today, we are breeding the highest quality Arabian horses in the world in our country. I say with pride that our country is number one in the world in Arabian horse breeding today."
