Bloody incident in Amasya: Man kills son-in-law who eloped with his daughter
In Amasya, 54-year-old Dursun Şengül shot and killed 45-year-old Halil Eser, who had eloped with his daughter one month ago, at a gas station. Şengül's daughter, 35-year-old İnci Eser, was slightly injured in the arm.
In an incident that took place at a gas station in Yıldız Village, located in the center of Amasya, a father killed his son-in-law, with whom his daughter had eloped one month ago.
According to allegations, İnci Eser, the daughter of the Şengül family, eloped and married Halil Eser one month ago without her family's consent. Father Dursun Şengül encountered his daughter, İnci Eser, and his son-in-law, Halil Eser, at a gas station. During the argument that ensued, Dursun Şengül fired two shots with a shotgun at his son-in-law, Halil Eser, and his daughter, İnci Eser, who were in a car. Halil Eser lost his life at the scene, while İnci Eser was slightly injured in the arm. Upon notification, police, gendarmerie, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel treated İnci Eser. Relatives of the son-in-law who arrived at the scene suffered nervous breakdowns.
Halil Eser's body was taken to the morgue of Amasya University Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Training and Research Hospital following the crime scene investigation. Dursun Şengül, who fled in his car, was apprehended by gendarmerie teams along with the weapon used in the crime and taken into custody.
It was announced that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
