Two workers who were trapped under the rubble following a collapse at a building undergoing demolition as part of an urban transformation project in Kadıköy, Istanbul, were rescued with injuries as a result of the teams' efforts. The workers were taken to the hospital after receiving initial medical intervention at the scene.
A collapse occurred at approximately 09:40 at a building undergoing demolition as part of an urban transformation project on Yusuf Kamilpaşa Street in the Caferağa neighborhood of Istanbul's Kadıköy district. Two workers who were working in the demolition area were trapped under the rubble during the collapse.
Upon notification, fire, police, medical, UMKE, and canine search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area. As a result of the efforts carried out by the teams, the 2 workers trapped under the rubble were rescued with injuries.
The injured workers, who received their first medical interventions at the scene by medical teams, were taken to the hospital by ambulances. While the entrances and exits of Yusuf Kamilpaşa Street were closed by police teams as a security measure, it was learned that investigations and work at the scene are ongoing.
