Breaking News... Passenger bus overturns in Antalya: Many dead and injured

A passenger bus traveling from Tekirdağ to Antalya lost control and overturned after failing to negotiate a curve near the Döşemealtı district on the Antalya Northern Ring Road.

It was reported that many people were killed and injured in the accident involving the bus with license plate 26 ABG 022, belonging to Buzlu Turizm.

Upon notification, numerous health, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene, and the injured received initial medical intervention on-site.

8 DEAD, 26 INJURED

Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin announced that 8 people lost their lives and 26 were injured in the tragic accident.

Şahin stated, "Unfortunately, we lost 8 of our citizens in the accident, and 26 of our citizens are injured. Some of the injured are in critical condition. The injured have been taken to surrounding hospitals, primarily the city hospital."

Stating that the cause of the accident will be determined as a result of a technical investigation, Şahin said, "The ground is wet, and there was fog in the area. It is not a place for speeding, but it is understood that the bus was speeding."

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that an investigation has been launched into the accident and that 1 Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor and 2 Public Prosecutors have been assigned.

Tunç's statement is as follows:

"I wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the tragic bus accident that occurred in Antalya, which deeply saddened us all, and I extend my patience and condolences to their families and loved ones.

I hope that our citizens who were injured in the accident and are currently under treatment will regain their health as soon as possible.

A judicial investigation has been initiated by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the accident, and 1 Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor and 2 Public Prosecutors have been assigned.

The investigation is being carried out meticulously."

DEATH TOLL RISES TO 9

It was reported that the death toll in the tragic accident has risen to 9.
