Bulgarian tourist arrested over harassment allegations dies in Kuşadası

Bulgarian citizen Plamen Dinev (35) has died after being handcuffed following a scuffle with security guards at a hotel in the Kuşadası district of Aydın, where he was accused of harassing a Russian couple.
The incident occurred yesterday at approximately 22:00 at a hotel. According to allegations, an argument broke out between Bulgarian citizen Plamen Dinev, who had come to the Kuşadası district for a vacation, and a Russian couple passing by his room. The Russian couple reported the situation to hotel security, claiming they had been subjected to physical and verbal harassment by Dinev.
Security personnel intervened and warned Dinev, but when they were unable to resolve the situation, they notified the police. A scuffle broke out between Dinev, who was reported to be intoxicated, and the security guards. The security guards handcuffed Dinev.
During this time, Plamen Dinev suddenly collapsed, and hotel staff notified the 112 Emergency Call Center. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon the report. Medical teams determined that Dinev had passed away. The body of Plamen Dinev, who is suspected to have suffered a heart attack, was taken to the Kuşadası State Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The Public Security Bureau of the Kuşadası District Police Department has launched an investigation and is reviewing security camera footage.
Fourteen employees, including two private security guards, have been taken into custody to provide their statements.
The investigation is ongoing.
