Car catches fire: Driver narrowly escapes death
A fire broke out in a parked car in the İzmit district of Kocaeli when the driver started the engine. While the driver escaped at the last moment, the flames rising from the car spread to another vehicle. The fire was brought under control by the intervention of fire crews.
A fire broke out in a parked car in the İzmit district of Kocaeli when the driver started the engine.
The incident occurred in a parking lot located on Salim Dervişoğlu Street in Kemalpaşa Neighborhood. A fire started while the driver, C.Ş., was starting his parked car with the license plate 41 PB 027.
C.Ş. got out of the car in a panic and reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, fire crews arrived at the scene and began efforts to extinguish the fire. Meanwhile, smoke rising from the vehicle also spread to the left fender of another parked car.
The fire was brought under control by the intervention of the fire crews. Due to the fire, the car with license plate 41 PB 027 became unusable, and material damage occurred to the vehicle whose left fender caught fire.
An investigation into the fire has been initiated.
