Traffic congestion on the Düzce Gümüşova ramps of the Anatolian Motorway over the weekend led to chain-reaction accidents. A total of 10 vehicles were involved in two separate accidents in the direction of Istanbul, leaving 8 people injured.

The accidents occurred during traffic congestion in the direction of Istanbul in the evening hours. In the first accident, 5 vehicles collided, resulting in 5 injuries. Following this, other vehicles that could not stop in the slowing traffic caused a second chain-reaction accident. In this second accident, which also involved 5 vehicles, 3 people were injured.

Following the accidents, numerous health, gendarmerie, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene upon reports from other drivers. Medical teams provided initial intervention to the injured at the scene and transported them to Atatürk State Hospital and Düzce University Hospital.

LONG VEHICLE QUEUES FORMED ON THE MOTORWAY
Due to the accidents, traffic on the motorway was restricted to two lanes, leading to long vehicle queues. Gendarmerie teams worked for a long time to ensure the road was reopened. As the vehicles were removed, traffic returned to normal, and the gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the accidents.
