Cigarette price hike on the horizon
It has been claimed that there will be another price hike for cigarettes. Özgür Aybaş, President of the Turkey Monopoly Dealers Platform, made statements regarding the cigarette price increase on his social media account.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the 6-month inflation figures, which led to a 19.49 percent increase in the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) on cigarettes, resulting in a price hike. It has now been claimed that there will be another price increase for cigarettes.
Turkey Monopoly Dealers Platform President Özgür Aybaş, in his statement regarding the cigarette price hike, said, "If there is another 5-6 lira price increase on cigarettes next month, would you say 'what else' or not?"
