Departure tax for travel abroad increases starting tomorrow
With the amendment made to tax laws, the departure tax for travel abroad has been increased from 150 liras to 500 liras. The new fee will be applied starting August 12.
With the new regulation published in the Official Gazette on August 2, the departure tax for travel abroad was increased from 150 liras to 500 liras. This increase will be re-evaluated each year according to the revaluation rate.
The law was drafted to enter into force 10 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. Thus, the new departure tax fee will begin to be applied starting August 12.
The Revenue Administration (GİB) had provided the opportunity to pay the new fee without waiting for August 12. In this way, citizens had the opportunity to pay the new tax at an earlier date.
